Seven Rila Lakes – one day

The Rila Mountains are the highest on The Balkan Peninsula with Mount Musala – 2925 m. Rila (an old Slavic word, meaning “Water Mountain”) looks like a rough sea of mountain ridges and peaks, deep gorges and 150 crystal clear lakes. A big part of the National Park is under the protection of UNESCO.

ITINERARY
After a transfer we reach the Panichishte resort area, where we take the chairlift to the Rila Lakes mountain hut. From here we start our hike to explore all the lakes (the Eye, the Tear, the Kidney, the Twins, the Trefoil, the Fish Lake and the Lower Lake) on the way up to reach the viewpoint at about 2550m.
