Hiking Koncheto Ridge – The Marble Ridge of Pirin
One-day adventure through Koncheto – an iconic marble ridge of Pirin mountain, which represents a dream for every experienced mountaineer and is once in a lifetime experience!
The traverse of the marble ridge of Pirin starts from Yavorov hut, passes through the biosphere reserve “Bayuvi Dupki – Djindzhiritsa” and passing through the peaks of Razlozhski Suhodol 2728 m, Bayovi Dupki 2820 m, Banski Suhodol 2884 m, Kutelo 2908 m, the Kazanite cirque to Vihren hut. From the ridge we will have the opportunity to enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the entire Pirin, Rila, Belasitsa.
The reserve “Bayuvi Dupki – Djindzhiritsa” is a habitat for about 500 species of higher plants, 55 endemics, the Balkan chamois and many species included in the Red Book of Bulgaria. Pirin National Park is on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Previous hiking experience is required. Not suitable for people with fear of heights.
Although fitness is generally not a problem a good level of fitness is still required.
ITINERARY:
- An early transfer (50 min) from Bansko will bring us to Yavorov hut 1750 m, from where our adventure begins.
- Immediately after the start of the trail we will begin the climb to the ridge, surrounded by the majesty of the beautiful nature of Northern Pirin. When we reach the ridge leading to Koncheto, we will be faced with unique panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys that will leave us breathless. With the steel cable for support we will pass through the Koncheto, reaching Kutelo peak. Then we will descend to Vihren hut through the Kazanite cirque.
- Transfer back to Bansko. Transfer time: 30 min.
- Day summary: 13 km. 8-9 hrs. Ascent/Descent: +1200 / -1100 m.
Price: 1 person: 200 Euro; 2 persons: 115 Euro pp; 3 persons: 85 Euro pp; 4-8 persons: 65 Euro pp.
