Trek from Seven Rila lakes to Rila Monastery
Feel the magic of Rila mountain
The Rila Mountains are the highest on The Balkan Peninsula with Mount Musala – 2925 m. Rila (an old Slavic word, meaning “Water Mountain”) looks like a rough sea of mountain ridges and peaks, deep gorges and 150 crystal clear lakes. A big part of the National Park is under the protection of UNESCO.

No previous hiking experience is required. Trekkers or walkers who is in good physical fitness condition.
ITINERARY:
- Day 1:
- After a transfer (1:45 hrs) from Sofia we reach the Pionerska hut, where we take the chairlift (30 min.) to the Rila Lakes mountain hut 2000m. From here we start our hike to explore all the lakes (the Eye, the Tear, the Kidney, the Twins, the Trefoil, the Fish Lake and the Lower Lake) on the way to Ivan Vazov hut. Our hike continue up to Razdela and from there we descent to Ivan Vazov hut 2300m. Overnight in hut.
- Day 2:
- After breakfast we start our descent to Rila monastery. This day is full with beautiful mountain panoramas and forest trails. Visit of Rila monastery. Transfer back to Sofia.
Price: 1 person: 500 Euro; 2 persons: 290 Euro pp; 3 persons: 250 Euro pp; 4-8 persons: 230 Euro pp.

Private transfer, English-speaking UIMLA certified mountain guide, chair lift tickets, accommodation in Ivan Vazov hut, 1 breakfast, 2 picnic lunch, 1 dinner.
Price does not include:
Food and drinks not mentioned in the itinerary, insurance, museum entry fees, other personal expenses.

- Appropriate clothing
- Appropriate backpack (around 30L)
- Comfortable shoes for trekking
- Sun glasses
- Bottle for water
- Mountain insurance
Important information:
- The trip will be guided by UIMLA certified mountain guides.
- Maximum 8 participants per 1 guide.
- Minimum number of participants: 1 Maximum participants: 8.
- The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to the itinerary and location in case of bad weather or snow conditions.
