Alpine Traverse Polezhan-Strazhite-Disilitsa

This adventure will take us to one of the most desired winter alpine traverses in Pirin mountains. We will start our journey from Bezbog hut, we will climb Polezhan peak and after that we will make our way to the technical rocky ridge of Strazhite that culminates in Golyamata Strazha peak and then descends towards Disilitsa peak from where we will walk back down towards Bezbog hut.

Dates: December – April, Pirin mountain, Bezbog hut

Difficulty level: Medium

Good physical condition is required. You need to have basic experience in walking in crampons and winter mountaineering. Get in touch in case you have doubts.

ITINERARY:

  • Day 1:
  • Meeting in Bansko or Dobrinishte at midday.
    Gear check
    We will drive to the base of Bezbog lift, taking the last chair to the hut (around 15:30)
    Night in the hut
  • Day 2:
  • Early alpine start before sunrise.
    We will do our climb and come back to Bezbog hut
    Lift back down to the parking
    Hiking time: 7-8 hrs Vertical gain: +750/-750 m

Important information

  • The event is lead by a qualified Alpine mountain guide.
  • Maximum 2 participants per 1 Guide.
  • Minimum number of participants: 1 Maximum participants: 2.
  • In case you don’t have any of the equipment we can help you rent it out.
  • We can recommend a family guesthouse in Bansko.
  • We reserve the right to make changes to itinerary, dates and location in case of bad or inappropriate weather conditions.
