Hiking to Seven Rila Lakes
Seven Rila lakes is one of the most beautiful natural sights of Bulgaria. The Rila Mountains are the highest on The Balkan Peninsula with Mount Musala – 2925 m. Rila (an old Slavic word, meaning “Water Mountain”) looks like a rough sea of mountain ridges and peaks, deep gorges and 150 crystal clear lakes. A big part of the National Park is under the protection of UNESCO.

Best period: June – October
No previous hiking experience is required. Trekkers or walkers who is in good physical fitness condition.
ITINERARY:
- An early transfer will bring us to Pionerska hut 1600 m. Transfer time: 1:45 hrs.
- There we take the chair lift to Rila Lakes mountain hut 2000 m. Lift time: 30 min.
- From here we start our hike to explore all the lakes (the Eye, the Tear, the Kidney, the Twins, the Trefoil, the Fish Lake and the Lower Lake) on the way up to reach the viewpoint at about 2550m. Hiking time: 4-5 hrs.
- Down with the chair lift to Pionerska hut. Lift time: 30 min.
- Transfer back to Sofia. Transfer time: 1:45 hrs.
Price: 1 person: 220 Euro; 2 persons: 120 Euro pp; 3 persons: 110 Euro pp; 4-8 persons: 80 Euro pp.

- The trip will be guided by UIMLA certified mountain guides.
- Maximum 8 participants per 1 guide.
