Rock Climbing at Vitosha Mountain
Vitosha Mountains are the oldest Nature Park on The Balkan Peninsula with it is highest peak Cherni Vrah – 2290 m. Vitosha is the closest location to Sofia for winter and summer outdoor activities, just 30 minutes away from the city center.
Kominite (or The Chimneys, if translated to English) are two rock pillars located near Dragalevska River at around 1600m above sea level. On top of the pillars you will find wonderful panoramic views of Sofia, Stara planina mountain range and other small mountains around Sofia.
Kominite climbing area offers fully equipped single and multi pitch climbing routes of up to 70 vertical meters. The rock is good quality granite, suitable for beginner and intermediate climbers. The climbing grades range between 3a and 7a.
During the climbing day we will complete several single pitch or multipitch routes with difficulty level adapted to the participants experience.

It is suitable bot for experienced climbers or beginners, with no previous rock climbing experience.
ITINERARY:
- We will get to Bay Krastyo area at Vitosha mountain by car. Transfer time: 1 hrs
- From there we will start our hike to the base of the cliffs. The approach is between 20-30 mins.
- Upon arrival, we will take a short break and prepare for our climbing adventure.
- The guide will make a safety briefing and will give instructions on how to use climbing equipment and basic rock climbing techniques.
- We will climb several routes depending on the group experience. Rock climbing time: 3-4 hrs
- At the end of the climbing day we will go back to the car and drive back to Sofia. Transfer time: 1 hrs
Price: 1 person: 508,50 BGN/260 EUR; 2 persons: 293,37 BGN/150 Euro per person.
In order to book your place, a 50% deposit is required.

Private transfer, English-speaking mountain guide, rock climbing equipment (Helmet, Harness).
Price does not include:
Climbing shoes, food, drinks, insurance, other personal expenses.

Important information:
- The event is lead by qualified Alpine mountain guide.
- Maximum 2 participants per 1 guide.
- Minimum number of participants: 1 Maximum participants: 4.
