SURFING THE HIMALAYAS – Gulmarg Splitboard and Ski camp
Join us for an exotic trip to the state of Kashmir, India, to ride big lines, near one of the highest lift accessed mountains in the world! Gulmarg is a ski resort with a scenic gondola that provides access to a vast freeride and ski touring area. The upper lift station is situated at 3980 m asl, at the foot of Mt Apharwat 4215 m asl.
The mountains provide various terrain forms and long lines with vertical gain between 1000 and 2000 meters per descent. Since it’s a very wide area, powder snow can remain untracked even 2 weeks after a snow storm.
This trip is suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders with some backcountry experience. If you are unsure about your level, get in touch with us.
Dates: 14 – 25 February 2026
Difficulty level: Intermediate – Advanced
Good physical condition is necessary. Good level of off-piste skiing or snowboarding.
ITINERARY:
- Day 1-2:
- Departure from Sofia in the afternoon. We will fly Sofia – Istanbul – Delhi – Srinagar. Arrival in Srinagar airport. Transfer to our hotel in Gulmarg.
- Day 3-9:
- Riding in Gulmarg (7 full days). Option for Heliski day.
- Day 10:
- Transfer to Srinagar. We will spend the day exploring the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Dal lake, it’s floating gardens and market. We will stay for the night in a hotel or a boat house at Dal lake.
- Day 11:
- Transfer to Srinagar airport, fly to Delhi. We will have a long wait between flights and we will stay in a 4-star hotel near Delhi airport. Possible to do evening sight seeing in Delhi (depending on flight times).
*Optionally we can have one extra night in Delhi for day city tour (Lotus Temple, Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple, India gate, Connaught Place, etc.) - Day 12:
- Fly Delhi – Istanbul – Sofia
Necessary equipment:
- Splitboard or touring skis + poles*
- Avalanche equipment (Transceiver, shovel, probe)*
- Appropriate backpack (around 30L)
- Crampons (lightweight ones if possible)*
- Appropriate clothing (Gore Tex jacket & pants, down jacket, fleece, thermal underwear)
- Gloves, 2 pairs
- Sun glasses, sunscreen
- Ski helmet

Price includes:
– All transfers between Srinagar – Gulmarg
– 8 nights in 4-star hotel in Gulmarg with breakfast included
– 1 night in hotel in Srinagar + breakfast
– 1 night in 3-star hotel at Delhi
– Mountain guide (maximum 1-6 guide to client ratio)*
Price does not include:
– Airplane ticket Sofia – Delhi – Srinagar. (Current price is around 1800 BGN for a return ticket)
– Lift tickets and taxis. In case of bad weather the gondola might be partially or fully closed. The options in such days are to ski tour and riding the lower part of the mountains and take a taxi back to Gulmarg. Lift and taxi expenses will be between 10-30 EUR per day

Important information:
- The trip groups will be guided by certified splitboard guides Nikolay Pavlov – Nikyata and Pavel Peev
- Maximum 6 participants per 1 guide.
- Minimum number of participants: 4 Maximum participants: 10.
- In the in case that you do not have some of the equipment, we can assist in providing it for rent or purchase.
- The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to the itinerary and location in case of bad weather or snow conditions.
